MSPpedia:Community Portal
From MSPpedia
MSPpedia Community Portal
The Community portal is the place to go to find out the current focus of the project and any notes on the development effort. Please feel free to discuss the on the Discussion page. It's your suggestions and your ideas that will guide the development effort and hopefully make MSPpedia a useful and enjoyable resource for fans everywhere!
Current Focus: Gigography and Setlists
The current key aim of the site is to provide an extensive gigography of the Manic Street Preachers, and of the solo projects of James Dean Bradfield and Nicky Wire. This effort revolves around the category pages for each year (eg Category:2005) but the users are coming up with more and more great ideas for categorisation all the time. Feel free to have a click around some of the existing articles to see what others are doing in categorising those articles, and if you have an idea of your own, why not discuss it on the Discussion page?
Some users have also been providing images of setlists, flyers, ticket stubs etc. for use on setlist pages. This is an excellent idea and can only serve to brighten up these long pages of text. If you have a relevant image you'd like to use please feel free to upload it with the Upload Files page and add it to a setlist page, or a category page.
Special notes for our more dedicated editors!
It's fairly important for the organisation of MSPpedia that articles are all organised properly, at least being linked to from one other article (or there's a fairly slim chance of people finding them...), and preferably properly categorised. While some of us are clearly pretty good at this, occasionally someone will forget to link their article properly, or a typo or suchlike will render it hard-to-find. Our more dedicated editors might want to help out by occasionally checking the Orphaned Pages list or the Uncategorised Pages list and giving some of those articles a good home! Some of you may want to check the list of other Special Pages - it can be quite interesting!
Thanks
Lastly, thanks to all who have contributed and made the first few days of MSPpedia such a massive success. The contributions people have made have far surpassed my expectations and I look forward to your suggestions, your contributions, your comments and questions in the future as we strive to make this one of the best resources for Manic Street Preachers fans there has ever been.
This page will be updated regularly with current issues relating to the development of MSPpedia. Please keep checking back, or add this page to your watchlist.
